Glorya Kaufman Interviewed by Bonnie Oda Homsey for USC ORL’s “What Matters to Me and Why”

Internationally celebrated arts patron, Glorya Kaufman, is known as “the dancing philanthropist” in recognition of her love and support of dance. She established the Glorya Kaufman Dance Foundation which provides grants for nonprofit arts, education, research and healthcare programs throughout the U.S., including the Geffen Playhouse, City of Hope, the Mar Vista Family Center & Inner City Arts, whose Glorya Kaufman Dance Academy is named in her honor. In 2012 she made a historic gift to create and endow the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance and its new instructional building, The Glorya Kaufman International Dance Center. She was awarded an honorary doctor of humane letters degree from Julliard in 2010 and from Fordham University in 2011.
