When interviewed for the June 2009 edition of Angeleno Magazine, and asked what was the first dance performance she could recall, Glorya Kaufman replied: “In the living room of my childhood home, watching my parents dance”.When asked what she felt was the future of dance in America, Glorya replied: “Dance is emerging out of the shadows of the arts in this country. I have to say that dance is much more sacred as an art in other countries in the world. For example, the tango is a fine art in France and Argentina. I want to see that level of relevance in our country.”
