Partnering with the Whizin Center for Continuing Education, Glorya Kaufman presented “Dancing with the Rabbis”. When Ms. Kaufman offered a donation for a program within the Whizin Center for Continuing Education, Vice President Gady Levy offered this idea, as Glorya Kaufman wanted to “get people dancing”. For one magical evening, five of the most prominent L.A. rabbis came together for charity, and perhaps with the hope of a little dancing fame. The event was held at the Gindi Auditorium at American Jewish University. Five rabbis were chosen to perform with a professional dance partner and were judged by a group of panelists, including Glorya Kaufman herself. The winner Rabbi Zoe Klein, who danced the Tango, was rewarded with a charitable donation to the cause of her choice. The event also featured a special performance by Karina Smirnoff and Louis Van Amstel of Dancing with the Stars, and behind the scenes footage of the rehearsals. The night was full of energy and excitement, all in the name of charity.
