The Geffen Playhouse seeks to make its cultural resources available to all of Los Angeles’ diverse communities. Its programs for students, seniors, and underserved populations are designed to stimulate the intellect, imagination, and creative spirit.
To increase access to the theater experience, activities are carried out on site as well as in neighborhoods, schools, social service agencies, and community centers throughout Los Angeles. Glorya Kaufman contributed to the children outreach program and connected the Geffen Playhouse to Inner City Arts. Now, performers who are entertaining at the Geffen Playhouse also perform at Inner City Arts.
